Whether you Dance, do Calisthenics or Cheer, Makeup Art + Direction can tailor a professional spray tan to suit your performance needs.
Makeup Art + Direction offers performer discounts to ease the cost on what can be an expensive choice in sports. With individual performer prices, as well as packages for 4 plus teams.

You have now made that professional Spray Tan booking and you are now on the road to a fabulous, flawless glow. However, your flawless tan is as good as your preparation.
No matter how highly qualified, professional and experienced the Spray Tan Artist is, it's essential you follow the steps below before you walk through the studio’s door for your next appointment:

Makeup Art & Direction HIGHLY RECOMMENDS that a Spray Tan Patch TEST be performed for first time using FAUX TAN products.
Please inform Makeup Art & Direction if it is your first experience having a professional spray tan (though we always ask). Makeup Art & Direction ALWAYS performs services at the highest standards, meeting industry and ALL safety requirements/legislations.

PREPARE your skin over the the week prior to your booking. Make sure you EXFOLIATE your skin using a specialised tanning primer, exfoliating mitt or tan eraser at least 48 hrs prior. Pay attention to areas like your ankles, elbows and knees, where dead skin build up is more likely.
Also regularly MOISTURISE your whole body leading up to your booking but definitely NOT on the day of your booking.

Please DE-FLUFF by completing all shaving, waxing or electrolysis at least 24hrs – 48 hrs prior to your appointment.
Laser hair removal must not be done anything less than 10 days prior to your tan application. Please consult with your Hair Removal Expert for a specialists individual recommendation.

On the day of your appointment please DO NOT use deodorant, moisturise or have makeup on.
DO NOT have a shower just prior to your appointment. Showers should not take place any less than two hours prior to your tan application. IF YOU INSIST on having a freshen up beforehand , make it a quick cold shower.
Please REMOVE contact lenses and any jewellery.
Please note incorrect preparation, can affect the processing and final outcome of your gorgeous GLOW.

Make sure you also WEAR loose, dark clothing as well as dark underwear to your spray tan; including thongs and sandals.
Please be aware Makeup Art & Direction will supply a hairnet, disposable G-string and sticky feet for your professional spray; however, your own G-string, knickers or wearing nothing is absolutely fine.
C-string and Wash Bag are available for purchase for those wanting NO lines but a little privacy when spraying.

While your professional spray tan is processing avoid activities that may lead to excess sweating.

The importance of the consultation prior to application is to agree upon the best solution to result in the level of colour you desired.
Please do NOT wash your spray tan until the time suggested by your Spray Tan Artist. Any water contact during processing may effect your final result.
Early or late removal may result in the incorrect colour depth for you.

During your first shower gently rinse your tanning bronzer away, using tepid water and just brushing your hands across the skin surface. Pat dry your skin surface after with your towel.
Remember your faux tan continues to process within the first 24 hrs. Do NOT MOISTURISE after your first rinse.

Always use ONLY a SLS free body wash. Where you can, use a body wash specifically designed for spray tanning. Ask me to show you my aftercare range at your appointment.
Use a moisturiser everyday to maintain the moisture level in your skin.
If you plan on swimming regulary we suggest a Tanning Enhancer from Day 3 to boost your colour depth every second day.

Final Tips

Avoid shaving and do not exfoliate during the application days.
Your sunless spray tan does not provide you with sun protection. So please use appropriate sun protection when out in the sun.
Your Professional Spray Tan should last between 7 – 10 days depending on skin condition and what activities you choose to do.
If you follow the above suggestions, you will extend the life of your flawless tan.
In the last few days the colour should fade naturally. Use your Tanning Exfoliating products to remove any excess before your next booked spray tan.
Spray tans can be applied regularly, every 14 days or so.
